WF STAFF SELECTED FOR EXCLUSIVE EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE PROGRAM

July 07, 2022 | Stories

We’re constantly looking to unlock new ways of thinking through professional development opportunities. WF’s President & CEO Shelly Prichard and Chief Strategy Officer Courtney Bengtson were chosen to participate in CFLead’s Executive Leadership Institute (ELI), a year-long learning opportunity that focuses on community leadership for community foundation CEOs and VPs.

  • ELI for CEOs 2022-23 Knight Cities Cohort
Prichard and six other foundation executives began their cohort in May, where they’ll learn about strategies and techniques to advance community leadership skills. This program is generously funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
  • LI for VPs 2021-22 Cohort
Selected in November 2021, Bengtson and seven other community foundation VPs are exchanging ideas and discussing ways to lead change. ELI creates the space for VPs to learn from their peers while working towards their own community leadership goals.

While every community is different, community foundations themselves share similarities that allow for the transfer of knowledge, skills, resources and learning from one community foundation to the next.

“The practice of community leadership requires specific skills and strategies,” said Prichard. “This learning opportunity provides our team with deeper insights and leadership techniques to tackle complex issues in our community. The Wichita Community Foundation is already benefitting from these impactful sessions.”
