June 27, 2024 | Stories

The Foundation's work is powered by people who strongly desire to spark change in Wichita. In April, we welcomed Candace Bolinger as our Executive Assistant and Scholarship Coordinator.

In her role, she ensures a seamless operation of the office while supporting day-to-day administrative tasks and overseeing scholarships. Get to know more about Candace:

Tell us about yourself and your career journey.
I've spent more than a decade as an executive assistant, providing support to C-suite executives. My experience includes roles at Breakthrough/Episcopal Social Services, Friends University, and Thrive Restaurant Group. Born and raised in Wichita, I am married with three children, plus our rescue dog.

What led you to this position at the Foundation?
I was attracted to joining an organization dedicated to enhancing our community. I'm eager to collaborate with the team, build meaningful connections, and contribute to projects that keep Wichita moving forward.

What are you looking forward to most in your new role?
I'm eager to leverage my organizational and creative skills in my new role and actively contribute to the organization's initiatives. I'm also excited about supporting the student population as the Scholarship Coordinator. I find working with students to be incredibly rewarding due to their boundless potential and optimism.

Outside of work, how do you like to spend your time?
When I'm not working, you'll often find me reading mystery/thriller novels, enjoying the outdoors, capturing moments through photography, and cherishing moments with my loved ones. I find fulfillment in church involvement by playing bass guitar in the Praise Team. Additionally, I take the lead in organizing a Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Packing Party annually.
