In October, Wichita Foundation (WF) hosted fundholders, Board members and partners for an exclusive Behind the Stage experience at the Orpheum Theatre. The event offered a rare look into the historic theatre’s ongoing renovation, and how the Orpheum and WF partner to better serve arts, education and the community.
Stacee Olden, Orpheum Theatre Executive Director, shared stories from the theatre’s rich past and updates on its restoration efforts. Even with construction underway, the spirit of the space was undeniable.
Shelly Prichard, WF President and CEO, shared more about WF’s broader impact in the arts and across the community. She highlighted WF’s history of supporting the Orpheum through the Restoration & Renovation Fund and the Burns Fund at WF, plus shared how Field of Interest Funds and the Fund for Wichita empower others to fuel bold ideas that help Wichita thrive.
The event served as a reminder of what’s possible when Wichita invests in its creative and community spaces. Thank you to all who joined us and to everyone who continues to spark change in Wichita.
