18 nonprofits received ARPA funds through WF

While the pandemic is largely behind us, a sizeable portion of Wichita’s nonprofits are still recovering from its negative effects. The Wichita Foundation collaborated with the City of Wichita to aid with the distribution of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to support our local nonprofit sector.

In March, the ARPA Fund at WF allocated $286,350 to nonprofits that provide essential services to the community and have been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

This included organizations that have faced revenue reduction due to the pandemic but are unable to find funding elsewhere because of their size. To address this reality, WF worked closely with the City of Wichita to design a grant application process aligned with the guidelines of ARPA.

“Nonprofits provide a host of essential services to our community’s people, families and businesses,” said WF Director of Engagement James Woods. “We were thrilled to partner with the City of Wichita to provide funds to support these organizations as we continue to build a thriving and resilient community.”

The organizations receiving ARPA funding include:

  1. Ballet Wichita
  2. Cairn Health
  3. CASA of Sedgwick County
  4. Club Parkinsons
  5. DUI Victims Center of Kansas
  6. First Tee – Greater Wichita
  7. Freedom Hooves
  8. The Garages
